Quantium Medical will be attending Arab Health in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition center (DWTC), from Monday 29th of January to Thursday 1st of February, where they will exhibit their monitors “Conox” and “qCO”, and their “qCON OEM” Board in the Fresenius Kabi stand (H2 C30).
Our objective is to develop non-invasive methods to monitor the patient, allowing the exchange more efficiently, reduce the risk and increase their comfort. Conox is an anesthetic depth monitor manufactured by Quantium Medical and distributed by Fresenius Kabi since 2017. The same monitoring solution can also be made on boards “qCON OEM”, designed to be integrated into a multiparameter monitor. The cardiac output “qCO” monitor completes our product range, estimating blood flow through an impedance signal.
Arab Health is the largest gathering of healthcare and trade professionals in MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). There will be more than 4.200 world’s healthcare companies coming from more than 150 countries. Moreover, 40 pavilions can be visited to see the best that each nation offers.
Additionally, Arab Health features 19 conferences dedicated to leadership and continuous medical education imparted by international speakers covering the broad vision of the most spoken medical specialities and disciplines today.
The Conox is the only monitor measuring both hypnotic and analgesic effect. This innovative monitor helps to detect if the patient should have awareness during their anaesthesia. It also prevents from too deep anaesthesia which could cause Post Operative Cognitive Dysfunction (POCD).
The American Society of Anaesthesiologists annual congress will take place from October 21st to 25th in Boston. Conox will be highlighting on the Anaesthesia Monitoring department with Fresenius Kabi and Quantium Medical.
“ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2017 returns to the city where modern anaesthesia was born, Boston. On October 16, 1846, the world of medicine was forever changed when William T.G. Morton administered the first anaesthetic for a successful surgical procedure at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital. Be at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on October 21-25 to take full advantage of five information-packed days of learning, networking and discovering the latest in anaesthesia.”
You will find Conox on the Fresenius Kabi booth number 1617.

As you may know Monday 16th October 2017 is World Anaesthesia Day. This year it will be celebrating through the #CountMeIn! campaign. Count Me In! is an initiative to unite anaesthesia providers to raise awareness and support for scaling-up “human resources for anaesthesia”.
The WFSA’s recently launched Global Anaesthesia Workforce Map highlights the anaesthesia workforce shortage crisis. 70 countries had a total anaesthesia provider density of less than 5 per 100,000 population. Without adequate numbers of staff it will be impossible to scale-up anaesthesia provision worldwide, and impossible to ensure safe anaesthesia for all patients.
The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) held its 30th Annual Congress in the Austria Center Vienna (Vienna, Austria).
Fresenius Kabi presented a wide range of products designed for the use in Intensive Care Units and operating rooms. Our depth of anaesthesia monitor, Conox, was part of the exhibition.
During the four days, doctors and other healthcare worldwide professionals came to inform and give us their positive feedback on their experience with Conox.
From here we want to thank you for your welcome and interest.
We will continue to care for life,
Euroanaesthesia 2017 (the European Anaesthesiology Congress) took place in Genève, Switzerland from 2nd to the 4th June and Quantium Medical was actively present in both the scientific and the exhibitor areas. We are grateful for the attention we received.
During the whole congress, Doctor Gambús (clinical expert in the use of electroencephalogram as a measure of anesthetic drug effects, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona) presented the Conox® depth of anesthesia monitor at the Fresenius Kabi’s booth. Conox® comprises cutting edge hardware and digital signal processing technology to measure the two main components of anesthesia by using one single sensor based on the EEG: the hypnotic component with qCON index, which correlates to hypnotic endpoints, and the analgesic component with the qNOX index, which correlates to the predicted concentrations of remifentanil and to the likelihood of movement response to nociception.
We would like to thank all visitors for their time and interest. We will certainly continue working to offer you the best parameters and products for non-invasive patient monitoring.

Quantium Medical was chosen as an example of successful business in Mataró. For this reason, a video was recorded in order to help to impulse the business creation. Erik Weber Jensen, CEO of Quantium Medical, explains the benefits of this business friendly city and the advantages that this localitate has given along the years.
Euroanaesthesia 2015 (The European Anaesthesiology Congress) took place in Berlin, Germany from 30 May to 2 June. This year, like last year, Quantium Medical took part actively in both the scientific and the exhibitor area. We are grateful for the great attention received.
In respect to the scientific program, an abstract of each one our main products were presented. Two abstracts, about the qNOX and the qCO, were presented by members of Quantium Medical and one about the qCON by Dr. Zanner, who presented the results of data replayed to the qCON to assess update time.. The first abstract, about the qNOX, was presented by our CSO and CEO, Erik Weber Jensen. The purpose of this study was to validate which of two qNOX versions was able to predict response to laryngoscopy and LMA insertion. The study was done with 140 patients at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. The conclusion was that both versions were able to predict the response to the LMA placement and, for prediction of response to laryngoscopy, only the new version was able to predict movement with post stimuli values. A vast number of delegates showed interest in the qCON 2000 because it offers the possibility to monitor the hypnotic effect and the balance nociception/anti-nociception from one unique sensor. The other abstract, presented by Jesus Escrivá, was his first abstract in a long way to earn his doctorate and the first abstract using the qCO during general anaesthesia. The study included 26 patients to show significant differences between the Cardiac Output in awake and anaesthetised patients. See the abstracts in the Clinical Results.
In parallel, Quantium Medical was sharing its stand with some of its distributors, Medec from Belgium, Kommed from Germany and Unimedics from South Korea. The stand presented a bright-colored design, where the qCO, qCON, qNOX and its devices were represented. During all congress the stand received a lot of visits of people around the world. The Quantium Medical team have transmitted all feedbacks and advices, we are grateful for all and we hope to see you soon.
