World Anaesthesia Day

As you may know Monday 16th October 2017 is World Anaesthesia Day. This year it will be celebrating through the #CountMeIn! campaign. Count Me In! is an initiative to unite anaesthesia providers to raise awareness and support for scaling-up “human resources for anaesthesia”.

The WFSA’s recently launched Global Anaesthesia Workforce Map highlights the anaesthesia workforce shortage crisis. 70 countries had a total anaesthesia provider density of less than 5 per 100,000 population. Without adequate numbers of staff it will be impossible to scale-up anaesthesia provision worldwide, and impossible to ensure safe anaesthesia for all patients.

For more information on the campaign you can download the #CountMeIn! Toolkit, and for resources in Spanish and French please visit the World Anaesthesia Day webpage.

Conox is going to Massachussets, USA in October

The Conox is the only monitor measuring both hypnotic and analgesic effect. This innovative monitor helps to detect if the patient should have awareness during their anaesthesia. It also prevents from too deep anaesthesia which could cause Post Operative Cognitive Dysfunction (POCD).

The American Society of Anaesthesiologists annual congress will take place from October 21st to 25th in Boston. Conox will be highlighting on the Anaesthesia Monitoring department with Fresenius Kabi and Quantium Medical.

“ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2017 returns to the city where modern anaesthesia was born, Boston. On October 16, 1846, the world of medicine was forever changed when William T.G. Morton administered the first anaesthetic for a successful surgical procedure at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital. Be at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on October 21-25 to take full advantage of five information-packed days of learning, networking and discovering the latest in anaesthesia.”

You will find Conox on the Fresenius Kabi booth number 1617.
